PARADA DE ATAUTA 2019

A lot of fruit with an incredibly silky and elegant mouthfeel

Parada de Atauta is born out of the sandy soils of the Valley. It is the most subtle and elegant version of the tinto fino.

Fresh, youthful and fleshy in the mouth, with a good concentration of red and black fruit, all of it accompanied with soft tannins.

Average age of the vines: 90 to 120 years

From 950 to 1.000 meters in moorland areas.
Selection of plots of land with sandy soils mixed with pebbles over calcareous rock.

2019 begun with less water during winter and light frosts during spring that presaged a short grape year.

The absence of rainfall during the second half of spring and summer confirmed the scenario, but generous rainfall at the beginning of September caused the grapes to put on weight, loosing concentration but achieving a fresher balance.

This wine is made out of a selection of very old vineyards which provide a better maturation and a further fruity intensity. The vinification process is carried out in villages using concrete and stainless-steel vats.

Malolactic fermentation is carried out in wooden vats and then aged during 13-14 months in French Oak barrels and another 4 months in vats.

Lively deep red cherry color with violet reflections. Intense aromas of violets, thyme and rosemary under a light background of ripe red fruit.

Silkiness and freshness dominate a mouth with ripe red and black fruit flavors perfectly assembled with incredibly silky tannins with and a mineral and fresh finish.
