Llanos del Almendro is one of the Estate wines made in Bodegas Dominio de Atauta. It is made with grapes from a small plot of land located in the Atauta Valley, and the main characteristic of this plot is its sandy soil with cobbles on the surface. The poor properties of this sandy soil, together with the higher temperatures accumulated by this soil thanks to the cobbles, help the grapes mature more slowly, providing a greater complexity of tastes and aromas.

Tasting Note

Black cherry colour. This is an incredibly complex and strong wine. It has a mix of aromas and tastes of ripe black and red forest fruits combined with black liquorish balsamic notes and bitter almond nuances. It is a long wine on the palate, full-bodied, and it evolves with a layer tannins that have a fine granular texture.

Food Pairing

Very good with white and red meats, roast lamb or beef stew with mushrooms, rice, particularly those containing meat and paella with rabbit, matured cheeses, cured sausages, mushrooms, rice with “morcilla” and black truffle.
